Dear Maryland Golfers,
On behalf of the MSGA-WD, welcome to 2009. The Board has been hard at work over the winter months to ensure that the 2009 golf season will be varied and challenging with playable course set ups and terrific new venues. New for the 2009 season will be the allowing of distance-measuring devices at all MSGA-WD tournament and team play competitions. Many of you have felt the need for their use, allowing that they will speed play, enhance and equalize course knowledge, and will be good for the game.
This November at its Annual Luncheon the MSGA-WD had the pleasure of honoring Jane Mason, former President of the WD, with the Distinguished Service Award for 2008. Jane’s accomplishments both on and off the course are truly remarkable.
The Board will continue its efforts to promote and advance the interest of golf in Maryland to ensure that you, the player, will have the best possible golf experience.
