Dear Maryland Golfers:
Welcome to 2009 and what promises to be an exciting time for golf in the State of Maryland. On behalf of the Maryland State Golf Association I invite you to take full advantage of all that your Association provides in the upcoming year. We have an expanded Golf Passport Program that provides you with discounted access to more than 250 courses across Maryland and the region. We have a full tournament schedule that includes our Amateur and Open Championships for men and women as well as our Junior competitions all being played at our finest courses. And new for 2009 will be our four-ball gross and net tournament for the benefit of our MSGA Scholarship Fund. This new tournament will be open to golfers of all levels and will be played in the Fall.
Our mission is to serve the golfing needs of our members and the MSGA and our full staff of professionals and volunteers are the best. Our team is led by Bill Smith our Executive Director and includes Randy Reed, our Director of Rules and Competition, Matt Sloan, the Director of Handicaps and Member Services and our newest addition, Kim Daniels as Director of Operations. This talented team is ready for the challenges of 2009 so do not hesitate to reach out to them for assistance.
We look forward to all the Maryland golfers being active in the MSGA for this is your Association. Best wishes for a successful year on and off the course.
