Is
Your Club USGA Handicap Certified?
|
The
USGA requires that all clubs be handicap certified in
order to issue handicaps. All MSGA member clubs must attend
a seminar and complete a club compliance checklist to
be USGA handicap certified.
Official
USGA Handicap Indexes are required to be eligible for
USGA or MSGA competitions. Clubs become certified by attending
a Maryland Handicap Program Certification Seminar or USGA
Handicap Certification Seminar and making a passing grade
on the handicap quiz. In addition, clubs must complete
and return the club compliance checklist which shows that
they fully abide by the USGA Handicap System.
Both
must be done in order for the club to be in full compliance
and be certified to issue USGA handicaps.
